Volunteers SGN Garden Makeover

Volunteers SGN Garden Makeover

Volunteers from SGN in Burgess Hill visited The Bevern Trust as part of their Community Action Programme to give us a garden makeover. With a team of 20 enthusiastic volunteers, they set about transforming a garden area in preparation for future development for the charity – next to Bevern View in Barcombe. As a charity looking to grow, we are relying on local businesses like SGN to support us through volunteering and sponsorship. This is the second time we welcomed SGN to The Bevern Trust to volunteer for the day.

SGN volunteers worked hard all day dismantling several disused sheds and clearing a large area of land that was in need of tidying, setting us on the right track to develop the area further.

The people we care for have profound disabilities and we must raise vital funds to be able to give them the very best opportunities to live their life in abundance. Initiatives like this garden makeover from SGN make a huge difference to The Bevern Trust and save the charity valuable resources which directly benefits the people we care for.

Volunteers SGN Community Action Programme (CAP) gives employees the chance to spend a day volunteering for community or charity causes like The Bevern Trust.

Through CAP staff at SGN are able to make a difference to grass roots charities and give back to the communities they work with. It also helps to foster an understanding within their workforce of the benefits of volunteering and raise awareness of community issues.

SGN manage the network that distributes natural and green gas to 5.9 million homes and businesses across Scotland and the south of England. We were delighted to welcome them to Bevern View in Barcombe to support our care for people with profound disabilities.
