Harvey’s Yard Lewes was the perfect venue for the Bevern Trust’s first ever ‘Sussex Summer Sesh’ event.
Gates opened to Harvey’s Yard on Saturday morning and welcomed hundreds of families from the town and across Sussex with traditional fair games, face painting, a variety of great live musicians and delicious food, right throughout the day, helping to raise just under £1200 for The Bevern Trust at the Sussex Summer Sesh.

Some amazing Sussex based musicians performed in the yard throughout the day, entertaining the crowd, starting off with the gorgeous tunes of Bella Kardasis, a thoroughly interactive performance from the Sussex Swing troupe and taking us through the best of the 50s, were The Voxations. The fabulous Ska Toons got the place jumping and we heard some incredible harmonies from duo Scott & Maria to close, in what made up a fabulous fundraising afternoon for all at the Summer Sesh.
We were delighted to see hundreds of people from across Sussex at our first ever ‘Summer Sesh’ event in Harvey’s Yard, Lewes on the 21stJuly, all helping to raise vital funds for people with profound disabilities. Our thanks go to everyone who has supported the event, the vendors for donating to the charity on the day, to Harvey’s for allowing us use of the yard, the wonderful volunteers, Lewes Lions and to all the musicians who definitely helped us to get the Summer holidays officially started in Lewes. We hope to see everyone again at the same time next year.
Each year The Bevern Trust must raise at least £150,000 to give more freedom and opportunity to profoundly disabled people, cared for at their home Bevern View in Barcombe. Events like the Summer Sesh help raise vital funds to allow people with complex needs in Sussex to access their community and live their life to the full.
